A Speech on “The Best Time I Have Ever Had”

Good (—). I am here before you today to speak about the best time I ever had. It was the summer of 2014 and I was eight years old. We had our summer vacations and my parents decided to send me and my brother to my grandparents who were staying in a farmhouse on the outskirts of the country. I was skeptical at first because it was for the first time in my life that I was visiting the countrysides, but I would have regretted if I hadn’t gone as I had the best time of my life there.

My parents dropped us off at the farmhouse. We had set off early in the morning. The places that we passed through were mesmerizing. It was so beautiful and I have never had such an enriching visual ever in my life. There was so much greenery and I got to see many animals brazing and taking bath and having fun. When I reached the destination, grandpa and grandma greeted me with a tight hug.

I was taken by surprise to see all my cousins running out of the house to come and greet me. They had arrived there the day before and decided to surprise me. After having brunch, my parents took off. The next seven days were indeed like a dream to me which I will cherish my whole life. The place was amazingly beautiful.

They had a huge farm where I saw the biggest collection of farm animals I have ever seen. There were cows, goats, ducks, hens, rabbits, birds, and so many other animals. There were trees of all sorts possible. There were fruit trees like apple, orange, mango, papaya, litchi, dragon fruit, jack fruit, and the list goes on. There were creepers and crawlers and a huge vineyard that was beautifully maintained. They also had an alluring garden with a variety of flowers and it made the garden charmingly colorful and beautiful. It was indeed as pretty as a picture. I had only seen such beauty in books and movies.

Every day in the morning we would visit these places and absorb the positivity that these places abundantly offered us. We would feel so refreshed and would walk the entire place until it was time for lunch. We would run and play and talk.

I cannot even begin to describe the amazing food grandma made for us with the vegetables and fruits from the farm. After lunch, we would go for a swim in the pond, splashing water on each other, and having the time of our life. At night, we would listen to the stories our grandpa told us and he would stay there with us till everyone fell asleep. I got to be very close to all my cousins and my grandparents. We were all very sad after we returned to our homes after the week. It was as if we got to go on a week’s trip to heaven. This was the best time I had.
