Should Plastic Bags Be Banned in Grocery Stores?

Good (—) to one and all present here. My name is (—) and I am here to address whether or not plastic bags should be banned in grocery stores. Plastic bags should be banned, not only in grocery stores but everywhere. Plastic is non-biodegradable and thus causes pollution; as it can not be recycled, burning plastic diffuses harmful smoke into the environment which is harmful to everyone around.

Plastic also emits some radiation. Plastic bags can encourage a choking hazard for little animals and folks. Plastic water bottles also are thought to be carcinogenic. Quite this, plastic bags are to blame for the deaths of big numbers of marine species, who mistake the luggage for food. Consumers must accept that it’s hugely wasteful, massively unethical, and potentially deadly to continue using plastic bags. The government should impose heavy fines on the continued supply of plastic bags, and those supermarkets who remove all their bags are often rewarded.

Charging consumers for using plastic bags mustn’t end in profit for the supermarkets. This revenue should then be accustomed to repeal a number of the damage supermarkets reap on the local economy, environment, and society. Only 3.5 percent of this number is recycled. This suggests that much of the planet’s precious natural resources are being employed to provide plastic bags that several people maintain are unnecessary.

The chemicals and compounds that move into making plastic bags could even be utilized in an exceedingly way more effective manner. These two factors show that bag production could be a waste of resources, which may be being employed in an exceedingly much more effective way. Also, there’s plenty of animals dying about 100,000 animals dying annually from consuming plastic bags.

We don’t need this many plastic bags within the world. We cannot afford this accretion of plastic bags including the only way forward is to stop distributing and using it. Animals can be caught in them, motor accidents are caused, and plenty of people find themselves in trees. As a society, this shows that we don’t need plastic bags if we are willing to simply throw them away.

Plastic bags should be banned and replaced with bags that we’d not so readily disregard. Plastic bags can and have killed/(have been accustomed to kill) many animals (including human beings) and that they only have one singular use(carry things) that they’ll easily be substituted (with other bags) for. Plastic bags often find yourself floating within the seas- the house to several mammals, fish, and invertebrates. One species that are at great risk from plastic bags is the already endangered marine turtle.

Instead of plastic bags, people must be encouraged to use paper bags, jute bags, cloth bags, and any other form that is biodegradable and doesn’t become a hazard for the people and the environment. It is over time that people need to start acting responsibly and care for the environment for our coming generations. Thank you and have a good day.
