What Is the Best Type of Renewable Energy? – Speech (565 Words)

Good (—) to one and all present here. My name is (—), and I am here today to talk about the best type of renewable energy.

In this era, I think it is of high importance that we talk about renewable sources of energy and how to efficiently use them since most of the energy sources of the earth are being depleted and torn off due to man’s activities.

A sustainable energy source is called renewable energy in simple terms. Sources that are not infinite like fossil fuels are not renewable energy. Fossil fuels also release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which causes global warming and climate change.

There are various renewable sources of energy. The most popular ones are solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, tidal energy, geothermal energy, and biomass energy.

Solar energy is the method of using sunlight to generate electricity. This method has found a home in various households today.

Though sunlight is available in plenty, the solar energy that can be consumed depends on the time of the day or the seasons, and also the geographical locations. Wind energy is the harnessing of wind to produce electricity.

Though it may be a plentiful source, not every property is suitable for having a windmill setup. Hydro Energy is the use of water to generate electricity.

Depending on the type of property, they are mostly used for domestic purposes and off-grid generation of energy. Tidal energy is the use of tidal currents to generate electricity. The energy produced greatly depends on the high and low tides.

Geothermal energy utilizes the natural heat below the earth’s surface. It is used in some places where geothermal heat is available in plenty. Biomass energy converts the solid fuel made from plants into electricity.

Biomass generates energy at a much lower economic and environmental cost compared to others since it uses agricultural, industrial, and domestic waste.

The most efficient one among the various energy sources is wind energy. The process is to use the wind to generate electricity. The wind has kinetic energy. This kinetic energy is converted into mechanical power by wind turbines.

A generator then converts this mechanical energy into electrical energy or electricity.

Some of the important factors that the landowners consider before setting up a windmill to generate wind electricity are the wind resource, the distance from existing transmission lines, establishing

access to capital, identifying the reliable power purchaser or market, addressing siting and project feasibility considerations, and so on.

The most reliable renewable source of energy is hydropower and is being used in various countries as the primary source of energy and electricity.

Large reservoirs are created by building dams or barriers to control the flow of water which will drive a turbine, thus generating electricity. Like wind energy, hydro energy is also viable as a commercial energy source.

As the world population increases, it is important that we preserve our resources and make use of renewable resources more, which will also help the environment. Thank you.
