Speech on Dreams in English for Students

Long Speech On Dreams

Good (–) to one and all present here. I think all of you sitting here will have certain dreams in your life. If not, I am sorry to say that you are wasting your precious life. No matter how small or big, you should have dreams and aspirations in life. Dreams are what make you move forward in life.

As Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former president of India, rightly said, “Dream is not that which you see while sleeping; it is something that does not let you sleep.” No matter what position or status you hold in your life or career, you must always have a dream.

It is not enough that you just have a dream. You should be able to realize it and work hard for it. Most people dream, and when they start working for it and find a difficulty, they abandon it halfway.

That means you did not put your heart and soul into it. We have seen many successful people who have worked so hard all their lives to achieve their dreams or goals. Their lives should be a motivation for all of us.

You have to be ready to take risks and to encounter the obstacles that are part and parcel of your journey towards accomplishing your dreams. There may be lots of factors that may demotivate you on your journey.

Which may even include people who make you feel that it’s not worth it or you are not worthy. If you are convicted enough for your dream, nothing is impossible. No one can stop you.

Even when no one believes in you, keep going. Everyone deserves to dream and work for it. You cannot please everyone and live. It is practically impossible. Do not go after happiness. Once you realize your dream, happiness will come after you.

The people who tried to put you down will come looking for you. If you aspire for something that is uncommon or is not in the favor of others, know that you are unique.

Embrace your aspirations. Do not fear failures; instead, learn new lessons from them and improvise. Failure should not end your dream. It should provide more fuel to the fire in you. Do not believe in the excuses you or others make for you.

No dream is unachievable. You have to break free of your comfort zone and push as hard as you can. Challenge yourself daily. Make to-do lists. Take small steps. It is okay to ask for help from others but do not look for mercy.

Dream big, plan well, start small, be consistent, and believe in yourself. This is the formula to achieve your dreams and make your life fruitful. If you don’t have a dream, dream one today. Ask yourself what you want to be or do in life.

Make your life meaningful, and all that is good will follow. If you can dream it, you can do it. I wish you all the very best.
